Analytics and the storefront pixel
Read SmartSort AI reports, from revenue and click-through by position to before-vs-after lift, and see what the anonymous storefront pixel measures.
SmartSort AI measures how your collections perform, so you can see what sorting changes. Reports are part of the Growth plan and up; the storefront pixel that collects the data runs on every plan, so your history is already there when you upgrade.
Reports
Open Reports and choose a period.
- Revenue trend — revenue, units and orders per day for your store.
- Collection performance — for each collection: revenue from its products, views, clicks, click-through rate and add-to-carts.
- Click-through rate by position — how often shoppers click a product depending on where it sits in the grid, from position 1 to 48 (and 49+). In most stores the first rows get far more clicks — that’s why the order matters.
- Lift — for each collection, the average daily revenue of its products in the 14 days after SmartSort AI first sorted it compared with the 14 days before. It appears once there are at least 3 days of data after the first sort.
- Collection details — open a collection to see each product’s impressions, clicks, add-to-carts and sales.
Note: Lift compares two periods, so seasonality, promotions and stock changes affect it too. Use it as a guide alongside your own reports.
The storefront pixel
When you install SmartSort AI, it adds a small Web Pixel to your online store through Shopify’s customer events. Settings shows whether it’s connected. It records three things:
- Collection views — which products were shown and in which positions (impressions).
- Clicks — a shopper opened a product from a collection, and from which position.
- Add-to-carts — a shopper added that product to the cart after coming from the collection.
The pixel sends only collection and product IDs and positions. It doesn’t send names, emails, customer or device IDs, and it doesn’t set cookies. Events are counted per product, collection and day. See Privacy and data.

Why numbers can differ from Shopify’s reports
- Consent. The pixel follows your store’s privacy settings. Where consent is required, shoppers who decline analytics aren’t counted.
- Ad blockers and some browsers block analytics requests.
- Collection pages only. Clicks and add-to-carts are counted when the shopper came from a collection, not from search, the home page or direct links.
- Large pages. Up to 60 products per collection page view are counted.
- Revenue in reports comes from order line items after discounts; refunds, shipping and taxes are not included.
If reports stay empty for a few days, check that the pixel is connected in Settings and see Troubleshooting.
