Plans, free trial and billing
Compare Rack Scanner plans and limits, start a free trial, change plans, and learn what happens when you reach your scan or order limit.
Rack Scanner is billed through Shopify: charges appear on your regular Shopify invoice, in US dollars, every 30 days. Open Plans in the app menu (the page is titled Plans & billing) to see your plan, your usage this period and your subscription.

Every plan includes the iPhone and Android apps, unlimited staff accounts, automatic Shopify sync, secure QR connections, count history and email support. Each plan covers one Shopify store; install Rack Scanner on each store you want to count.
Start your free trial
- On Plans, click Start 7-day free trial on the plan you want.
- Approve the subscription in Shopify.
- You’re taken back to the Dashboard.
You aren’t charged until the trial ends. The free trial applies to your store’s first subscription only; if your store has had a Rack Scanner plan before, the button reads Choose … and the plan starts without a trial.
Tip: Have a discount code? Enter it under Have a discount code? and click Apply before you choose a plan. The plan cards then show the discounted prices.
Change plans
Click Switch to … on another plan and approve the change in Shopify. The new plan applies as soon as you approve it.
When you move to a smaller plan:
- Devices: if more phones are connected than the new plan allows, Rack Scanner warns you first, then keeps the most recently active phones and disconnects the rest.
- Locations: your default location is always included, plus the next locations up to the limit. Other locations stay untouched in Shopify, but can’t be counted, checked or updated from a CSV until you upgrade.
- Features that aren’t on the new plan show an upgrade page in the Shopify app, and scan modes that aren’t included are locked in the mobile app.
Scan and order limits
Limits reset at the start of each billing period. Plans and the Dashboard show how much you’ve used.
- Scans: a banner appears at 80% (Approaching your scan limit). When every scan is used (Scan limit reached), staff can’t scan to count until you upgrade or the period resets. Stock checks still work. See what counts as a scan.
- Packed orders: an order counts once it’s marked packed. At 80% you’ll see Approaching your order limit; at the limit (Order limit reached), staff can’t start pick lists or mark orders packed until you upgrade or the period resets.
Cancel
There’s no separate cancel button in Rack Scanner. To stop billing, uninstall the app from your Shopify admin; the subscription ends with the uninstall. Phones are disconnected right away. See Privacy and data.
Questions about billing
Rack Scanner charges appear on your Shopify invoice, and Your subscription on the Plans page shows your plan, price, status and renewal date. For anything else, email us — see Support.
