Count sessions and reports

Review every count with its stock differences, export sessions to CSV, and track variance, shrinkage and staff productivity in Reports.

Every count your team runs is saved as a count session: who counted, where, when, which products and how far each was from Shopify. Managers review them in the Shopify app.

Count sessions

Open Count sessions in the Shopify app. Each row shows the session name, mode and location, who counted, the status, the number of products and units, the net difference and when it started.

To find a session:

  • Use the tabs: All, In progress, Needs review, Submitted and Cancelled.
  • Filter by mode (Single product, Full audit, Location audit) or by location.
  • Use Search sessions.

Sessions are named automatically from the mode, location and time, for example Full audit · Main Warehouse · Oct 9, 14:05.

Session details

Click a session to open it. You’ll see:

  • Status, Counted by, Started and Finished.
  • Products counted, Units counted, Net difference (with the total units off) and Count accuracy — the share of products whose count matched Shopify.
  • A product table with Shopify before, Counted, Difference and Result. Location audits add a Shelf column.
  • Tabs to show All products, only those With differences, or Issues (conflicts and failures).
  • Activity: when the session started and was submitted, with how many products were updated, had conflicts or failed.

On the Growth plan and up, click Export CSV to download the session.

Dashboard

The Dashboard gives a live overview: scans today and in total, inventory updates and sessions submitted, connected devices, orders to pack and packed today, a 14-day activity chart, your plan usage, the most counted products of the last 30 days, and recent activity across your team.

Reports

Reports is included on the Pro and Enterprise plans. On other plans, the page explains which plan unlocks it.

  1. Choose Last 7 days, Last 30 days or Last 90 days, or set From and To dates and click Apply.
  2. Read the totals: Products updated, Units counted, Net variance and Count accuracy.
  3. Below them:
    • Variance over time — net and absolute difference per day.
    • Shrinkage by product — products that were short compared with Shopify, and how often they were counted.
    • Variance by location — products counted and units off per location.
    • Staff productivity — scans per team member, with sessions, active days and scans per day.

Click Export CSV to download the report for the selected dates.

Tip: Net variance can hide problems: +10 on one product and −10 on another add up to 0. Check the absolute difference and Shrinkage by product too.

How far back you can see

Your plan sets how much history the Shopify app shows for count sessions, pick lists and packed orders:

Plan History
Starter 30 days
Growth 1 year
Pro and Enterprise Unlimited

When older sessions are hidden, the list says Showing the last … days on your plan.

In the mobile app

The History tab (My count sessions) lists the sessions you counted, with their mode, number of products, status and net difference. Tap one to see each product’s count and result.
