# FunctionFlow in your Shopify admin

FunctionFlow AI · Manage & measure · Updated October 3, 2026

> Where your published functions appear in Shopify admin, how to create or open them from Shopify’s own discount and customization pages, and what to edit where.

FunctionFlow works inside your Shopify admin, and every function you publish becomes a normal Shopify discount, customization or validation.

## Where published functions appear

| Kind | In Shopify admin | Function name shown |
|---|---|---|
| Discounts, free and discounted shipping | **Discounts** | FunctionFlow Discounts |
| Shipping rules | **Settings → Shipping and delivery** → delivery customizations | FunctionFlow Shipping Rules |
| Payment rules | **Settings → Payments** → payment customizations | FunctionFlow Payment Rules |
| Checkout rules | **Settings → Checkout** → checkout rules | FunctionFlow Checkout Validation |

Functions with time conditions use the *(time-based)* version of these names, and functions written in the code editor use names starting with *FunctionFlow Code*. The discount or customization takes the function’s **title**; code discounts also show their code.

In FunctionFlow, **View in Shopify** in a function’s **Status** card opens it in Shopify admin.

## Create a function from Shopify

When you click **Create discount** in Shopify’s **Discounts** page — or add a delivery customization, payment customization or checkout rule — FunctionFlow’s options appear in Shopify’s list. Choosing one opens FunctionFlow on the matching tab of *What do you want to do?*, ready to build.

## Open a function from Shopify

Click a FunctionFlow discount or customization in Shopify admin and FunctionFlow opens that function in the builder (or the code editor). If FunctionFlow no longer manages it, you’ll see *That discount or customization isn’t managed by FunctionFlow any more.*

## Edit in FunctionFlow, not in Shopify

Make changes in FunctionFlow: the title, dates, discount settings and the rule itself are sent to Shopify each time you publish, so changes made directly in Shopify admin can be replaced the next time you publish. To switch a function off, use **Unpublish** in FunctionFlow.

## Opening the app

FunctionFlow always opens from your Shopify admin: go to **Apps** and choose **FunctionFlow AI**. If you open the app’s address directly, you’ll be asked to open it from Shopify admin instead. If your session expires, reopen the app from **Apps**.

## When you uninstall

Shopify removes the app’s discounts and customizations when FunctionFlow is uninstalled, so your functions stop running at checkout. See [Your data and privacy](https://help.fleekapps.com/functionflow-ai/privacy-and-data/).
